LAS CRUCES– The Ruidoso Battle of the Books Teams returned to the yearly competition
as the competition headed down south to Las Cruces this year on April 27th, 2019. With four middle school team members, some of the returning readers were able to take a spot on the 1st and 3rd place teams for the middle school division.
The elementary team had some new faces, one of which stood with the 1st place elementary team at the end of the challenge.
Held at Onate High School, 8 elementary team members and 4 middle school team members enjoyed the challenge and the reading community they encountered.
Authors, vendors, parents, sponsors, and event coordinators came together for a fun filled morning of academic challenges.
This is the fourth year that Ruidoso has returned to this long time state challenge. They are looking to return with even more team members next year and have already started reading books on the new list.
